Pre-School

(For Children aged 3 to 5 years)

Teacher to student ratio 1:4

Our Star Fish Pre-school program does not require a parent to be in the water. A (free) assessment is required prior to enrolling into this program. Each child will be placed in a class according to maturity and ability. The level is determined by the confidence, skill, readiness and ability of your child. We place your child in a level which will encourage them develop their aquatic skills.

Program aims and goals

SF1– Introduction to aquatics including underwater and floatation skills

SF2 – Self-propulsion- assisted and unassisted.

SF3 – Introduction to and development of basic strokes

Water Safety skills are incorporated into each lesson.

Students learn skills designed to enable them to help themselves in an emergency.

Class activities can include

Songs and games

Floating and recovery games – to introduce and develop body orientation and water safety skills

Kicking & paddling skills - to promote independent movement through water

Breathing skills – to learn breathing control for basic strokes and develop confidence underwater

**All games used in our programs are used to encourage participation and skill development.
